Kenya’s President Ruto allocates US$7.4 million to rebuilding schools amid disastrous flood

President Ruto has allocated about 7.4 million dollars to rebuild schools to counter the disastrous effects of the flooding.

On his X account, Kenya’s President William Ruto stated that US$7.4 million, will be allocated to re-building schools so students can resume their studies interrupted by the flooding.

The deadly flood in Kenya took 228 lives; around 2000 schools were destroyed, and others were shut down. Several dozen are still reported missing.

The Kenyan government have been criticized by the public and blamed for the outcome of the flood. Collins Obondo, a resident of Mathare, a slum settlement in Kenya, said, “I blame the government.”

Kenya is now on high alert. According to its meteorological department, Cyclone Hidaya, a tropical cyclone set to hit the Tanzanian coast, will only cause aftereffects.
