Meet Naashika Quaye, the young entrepreneur transforming lives through water supply

Quaye recently made history for winning the social entrepreneur category at the 40 Under 40 Awards for the second time in a row

The chief executive officer of Naaviq Company Limited, Victoria Naashika Quaye has attributed her success in the male-dominated bore hole drilling business to “passion for the job.”

Naaviq Company Limited is into drilling of boreholes, water treatment, dispensing mineral water, water consultancy, customised bottle water, community water projects as well as water treatment training.

Quaye recently made history for winning the social entrepreneur category at the 40 Under 40 Awards for the second time in a row.

Appearing on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday (20 December), the young entrepreneur said she started drilling bore hole personally, seven years ago.

“Three weeks ago, I was sitting down with my technical team and they were telling me that, ‘do you know because of you, other women are into construction, bore hole drilling and water treatment’,” Quaye said.

“Women are doing what was supposed to be a guy’s job, and they were giving me examples and names. Even men are telling their wives to learn what they are doing,” she added.
