NDC race: Mahama files nomination on Tuesday 21 March

Mahama is facing internal opposition from three others - a former finance minister, Kwabena Duffuor, a former mayor of Kumasi Kojo Bonsu and a businessman Ernest Kwaku Kobeah

Former president John Mahama will file his nomination to contest the 13 May 2023 presidential primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Tuesday (21 March) instead of Monday.

Mahama is expected to file his nomination at 1.00 pm.

“Originally planned for Monday, the John Mahama Campaign says it is very sorry for the postponement, which is in response to a request from the party to reschedule because of the presentation of the party’s True State of the Nation Address on Monday,” campaign spokesperson Joyce Bawah Mogtari said in a statement.

President Mahama will, however, continue his first phase tour of the Ashanti Region, the statement added.

Mahama is facing internal opposition from three others – a former finance minister and governor of the central bank, Kwabena Duffuor, a former mayor of Kumasi Kojo Bonsu and a businessman Ernest Kwaku Kobeah.

The general election is slated for 7 December 2024.
