Obunge to youth: Take advantage of opportunities in Commonwealth

This year's Commonwealth Day celebration is being celebrated on the theme: "Delivering a common future"

Rev Nims Obunge MBE, the CEO of Peace Alliance has challenged African youth to explore and leverage on opportunities within the Commonwealth.

Talking to Kwaku Nhyira-Addo on The Asaase Breakfast Show on Commonwealth Day (14 March) on the theme: “Delivering a common future”, Obunge called on the youth to leverage on educational and trade opportunities within the Commonwealth.

“We have an opportunity here within the Commonwealth, where we share our experience. So, what I will expect and want to see with young people is that we build the bridges that should exist and that already exist in the Commonwealth,” he said.

Obunge added: “We have a Commonwealth App… so I would recommend that every young person gets on the Commonwealth App, learn some of the opportunities that might exist in their field of interest and then connect with other people within the Commonwealth that have the same interest.

“Because in this day when globalisation is kind of driving things and the world has become a global village, we need to take full advantage of what the Commonwealth offers us. I think that in understanding the trade opportunities in particular, educational opportunities that exist, young people need to see that they can participate in something more than just in Ghana.”
