Oti Region: One dies in clash between herdsmen and farmers

The incident, according to the police, occurred after the natives found cattle belonging to the Fulani herdsmen grazing on their farms

At least four persons have been injured following a clash between some Fulani herdsmen and residents of Attakrom at Buem in the Oti Region, police have said.

According to the police, the incident occurred after the natives found cattle belonging to the Fulani herdsmen grazing on their farms, “causing considerable damage to the crops”.

A statement issued by the police said two motorbikes belonging to the herdsmen were set ablaze in the melee.

Meanwhile, the police have found the lifeless body of a Fulani young man believed to be in his twenties with multiple wounds in the bush at Guaman. The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Hohoe Municipal Hospital for autopsy.
