Stonebwoy to thrill fans at Bhim nation concert

"If you love reggae, dancehall and afrobeats, make sure you rep live at the Bhim concert on 23 December," the 2015 BET award-winner said

Ghanaian Afropop, dancehall and reggae musician, Stonebwoy, will be hosting his annual Bhim nation concert for the 6th time at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Friday (23 December).

A complete band will support the musician as he plays songs from all of his albums.

“If you love reggae, dancehall and afrobeats, make sure you rep live at the Bhim concert on 23 December,” the 2015 BET award-winner said on Asaase 99.5 Accra‘s Between Hours show on Monday.

“We’re making it super affordable so that everybody can come and experience what we have planned for them at this year’s Bhim concert.”

Passing the baton

Stonebwoy, however, added that he would want his children to follow his path in the future.

After recently performing at the FIFA fan festival, Stonebwoy said his children are musically talented and watching them sing reminds him of what he is made up of.

“It’s a talent they have. Anybody that follows my wife’s page will see that. These people amaze me every time,” he said. “They actually show me who I really am because now I’m seeing it in them, and I can believe that this is what is in our DNA.”

“I will love that they take on anything media entertainment, however they want it to go and definitely should also go to school and have a good education,” he said.

Music is actually a spiritual tool

“I believe the white collar jobs at that time came with a lot of prestige and it still does, like the other time when the lawyers were being called to the bar. There was one lady judge who said, ‘this is not a noble profession, it is the noble profession’, and I’m like ‘yes give it to them’,” he told Naa Ashorkor.

“When you get to understand the scope of the work, then you will understand what music really does, it shouldn’t become something you don’t do. When you understand that this is a calling, that music is actually a spiritual tool, then you’d have to align it properly. You might also end up not being able to do what you are supposed to,” Stonebwoy said.
