The quiz mistress of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), Professor Elsie Effah Kaufmann, has described the breakdown of her marriage as one of her biggest failures in life back then.
Speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray on Accra-based Starr FM on Thursday (2 November), Kaufmann said she has long recovered from the incident.
“Of course, when you get married, you are expected to stay in it for life. So I consider the breakup of a marriage one of my biggest failures.”
“At the time that it was happening, I considered it as a failure. But now I’m well over it; life must go on. Initially, it was difficult,” she said.
Kaufmann advised the youth to choose their partners wisely before entering marriage.
“First of all, you need to make wise choices and understand what you are getting into before you even get in there, so know that human beings are not static.”
“So if you get married based on what you see at that time, note that you are going to be growing; the person may or may not grow, so find somebody who can grow with you,” Kaufmann said.
