VIDEO: Several injured in a road accident at Teye Kwame near Shai Hills

The accident that occurred on Saturday (24 Jube) near Shai Hills in the Greater Accra Region involved four vehicles

An accident that occurred on Saturday (24 June) at Teye Kwame, a farming community near Shai Hills in the Shai-Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region has left several people injured.

The accident involved about four cars; Toyota Tacoma with registration number GT 2519-23, Toyota Corolla with registration number GW 151-19, a 15-seater Honda passenger car with registration number GE 6278-22 and one other.

The victims have since been sent to various hospitals around the area, an eyewitness told www.asaaseradio.com.

The eyewitness who pleaded anonymity said the accident occurred at about 5:00 pm when the Toyota Tacoma with registration number GT 2519-23 made an unsuccessful overtaking resulting in a head-on collision with the oncoming vehicle.

“I and my brother are returning from a funeral in the Volta Region. when we got here, the pick-up attempted to overtake the car but it’s been raining since morning and there is poor visibility on the road. And I think the driver didn’t see the oncoming vehicle. We tried to swerve but the other car at our back hit our car…” the eyewitness said.

As of the time this reporter was leaving the accident scene, the police were yet to arrive and onlookers were trying to move the mangled vehicles and clear the debris on the road to avoid more accidents.
