We’ve provided everything for you to deliver, Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif tells Black Stars

The Black Stars are yet to win a game in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, something Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif thinks shouldn’t have happened, because the team has been given all the resources to do well

The Minister of Sports, Mustapha Ussif, says the Black Stars have been given everything to perform at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Many have not been enthused with the team’s performance after the Black Stars lost to Morocco and drew with Gabon in their two opening group games.

Ussif, who watched the team’s opening group game in Cameroon, hopes they perform in the remaining group game.

For him, the government has given the squad everything they need to do well.

“On our part as government, you can attest to it that we have done our part, because every single thing that we have to put in place, I have ensured His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has made it available.

“So there is nothing for you to be worried about as far as financial and logistical issues are concerned. All we need is for you to deliver,” Ussif told the players.

The Black Stars will take on Comoros in the final group game on Tuesday (18 January) in Garoua.

A win for the team could see Coach Milovan Rajevac’s side reach the next stage of the competition as one of the third-best-placed teams.
