Akufo-Addo appoints Abdulai Dapilah as deputy director of EOCO

The trained lawyer joined EOCO as an assistant controller and assistant staff officer in August 1998 and rose through the ranks to deputy chief staff officer

President Nana Akufo-Addo has appointed Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah as the new deputy executive director in charge of operations at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

He joined EOCO as an assistant controller and assistant staff officer in August 1998 and rose through the ranks to deputy chief staff officer.

Dapilah comes to the role with deep knowledge of investigation having served as regional director for Northern, Sunyani (Bono) and Upper West regions.

He has served on numerous committees including Committee on Law and Enforcement Agencies and Banking Communities, Bank of Ghana, Revenue Assurance Compliance Enforcement, Ministry of Finance and Import Declaration Forms Audit Committee and Ghana Revenue Authority.

A statement issued by EOCO on Friday (14 July), said his appointment takes effect from Thursday (20 July).

 

EOCO is a specialised agency to monitor and investigate economic and organised crime and on the authority of the Attorney General prosecute these offences, to recover the proceeds of crime and provide for related matters.
