Ejuraman Anglican SHS to receive ultra-modern dining hall

A heavy storm accompanied by rains collapsed a makeshift structure of the Ejuraman Anglican SHS which served as a dining hall

An ultra-modern dining hall will soon be constructed for students of the Ejuraman Anglican Senior High School.

This was disclosed by the chief of Ejura Barima Osei Hwedie II following an intervention by Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who has since directed the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) to begin the process.

A heavy storm accompanied by rains collapsed a makeshift structure which served as a dining hall, injuring at least 50 students.

One person said to be in critical condition has since been referred while the others have been discharged after sustaining minor injuries.

“Due to the urgency of it the Vice president has directed GETFund to immediately send consultants to the school to start the process of constructing a befitting dining hall,” Barima said during a visit to the school.

“…so by the next week the consultants will be [in the school] for preliminary assessment for work to begin,” he added.

The revered chief also confirmed payment of an amount of GHC10, 000 to cater for the surgery of an 18- year-old female student who suffered a fractured leg and also settled the medical bills of about 50 students.

“I have also told the municipal chief executive and the Assembly to help pay all additional costs incurred after the disaster,” he said.

He also confirmed that the municipality will also be a beneficiary of the government’s ‘Agenda 111’, an initiative which seeks to improve quality health care across the country with new hospital projects.
