In music news, FirstBank Ghana has appointed Sarkodie as a brand ambassador, the head of retail banking at FirstBank Ghana, Allen Quaye has said.

The bank recently changed its name from FBNBank Ghana to FirstBank Ghana in a bid to strategically align with FirstBank Group’s identity, values, and vision.

On the small screen, the hit show “Stranger Things” has officially been renewed for a fifth season. The cast and crew are gearing up to start filming, and fans can’t wait to see what supernatural adventures await Eleven and the gang in the Upside Down.

Lill Win escapes near death experience

In movie news,Kumawood star Kwadwo Nkansah, also known as Lil Win, has been involved in a car accident in Kumasi, Asaase News can report.

The incident occurred just before 11am on Saturday, 25 May, near the Grace Baptist Church at Amakom in Kumasi. Lil Win’s branded Mercedes Benz private vehicle reportedly travelling at high speed, collided with a Hyundai Santa Fe vehicle.

Sean Kingston arrested after police raid singer’s home

Singer Sean Kingston has been arrested in California, hours after a police raid of his Florida mansion, during which his mother was also arrested.

Kingston was accused in February by a company of not fully paying for a huge TV and sound system.

US media report that he was taken into custody in Fort Irwin, southern California, on fraud and theft charges on a Florida warrant, according to police in the latter state.

Nollywood banned from producing “money rituals” films

Nigeria’s National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) says its Federal government has approved the prohibition of money rituals and glamourising of vices in Nigerian films.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Dr Shaibu Husseini, executive director/CEO of NFVCB disclosed it at a national stakeholders engagement on smoke-free Nollywood held in Enugu State on Wednesday, 22 May.
Movie producers, directors and actors drawn from different parts of the country, as well as leaders of various guilds and associations in the Nigerian film industry were present at the event.
Husseini said that today, we are facing an industry emergency requiring bold and ambitious actions from all parents, guardians and stakeholders.

Pharmacy Council investigates Fella Makafui

And finally, the Pharmacy Council of Ghana has revealed that popular social media influencer and actress Fella Makafui is under investigation for providing unlicensed advice on using drugs to enhance body parts.

According to the council, Makafui has been secretly monitored for several months, with numerous accusations piling up against her.

KK Fosu and Bless hospitalised after near-fatal car crash

Ghanaian music artists KK Fosu and Bless were involved in a devastating accident, Asaase News can report.

The incident happened on the Apam stretch on Saturday (25 May).

Both musicians are currently undergoing medical treatment at a nearby hospital, according to their handlers.

Details remain sketchy but sources close to the situation revealed that Bless suffered severe injuries, including a fractured leg, and is currently in critical condition.
