NPP primaries: Eugene Arhin, Kozie, Sackey and Okoe Boye win

In the Ledzorkuku constituency, the chief executive of the National Health Insurance Authority, Bernard Okoe Boye won the primary by polling 901 votes

The director of communications at the Office of the President Eugene Arhin has won the Awutu Senya West New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary by 862 votes.

He beat his sole contender Kofi Opei Okai who managed 119 votes in the Saturday (2 December) exercise across Ghana.In the Ledzorkuku constituency, the chief executive of the National Health Insurance Authority, Bernard Okoe Boye won the primary by polling 901 votes as against Nii Ashitey Ollennu’s 357 and Ibrahim Adjei’s 180 votes.

In the Adentan constituency, Akosua Manu popularly known as Kozie polled 814 votes, while Kwasi Fosu had 638 and Winifred Nartey got 18 votes.

The former minister of fisheries and aquaculture development Elizabeth Afoley Quaye lost her bid to retain the Krowor parliamentary slot for the New Patriotic Party for the 2024 elections.

Mrs Quaye, who had the slot in 2020 has now been dethroned by Ing. Emmanuel Odai Laryea, a Civil Engineer, who equally contested the primaries in 2020 but lost to Mrs Quaye by three votes.

For his part, Richard Nyamah polled 60 votes in Kpandai to come behind Matthew Nyindam who won by 682 votes.

The deputy director of communications at the Office of the President Jefferson Sackey won the Ablekuma Central slot by polling 539 votes. In Klottey Korle, Nii Noi Nortey won the parliamentary primary with 838 votes.

In the Greater Accra Region, Nii Lante Bannerman lost the Odododiodio parliamentary primary to Abdul Manaf Nii Adjei Sowah, who had 737 votes. He had 524 votes.

In the Asuogyaman constituency, the chief executive officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Pius Enam Hadzide, will be representing the NPP after polling 423 votes. He beat three other contenders including Paul Ansah who polled 131 votes, Michael Ansah also polled 113 and Nana Abrokwa Asare secured 95 votes.

In the Western Region, 973 delegates gave their votes to Barbara Oteng Gyasi to represent the party in the Prestea Huni Valley constituency. She defeated Theophilus Tawiah who managed 255 valid votes cast.
