The Kwahu Professionals Network (KPN) has pledged its support and commitment to the developmental agenda of the Kwahuhene, Daasebre Akumoah Agyapong II.

The network made the pledge when the executives and members paid a courtesy call on the King of the Kwahu Traditional Area last weekend during the Akwasidae celebrations.

The delegation, led by its President, Prince Boateng, was at the Esono Gyimah Ampong Agyei Palace at Abene in Kwahu to pay homage to the king, formally introduce the newly elected Executives, share the vision and aspirations of the network as well as the various programs and projects it intends to roll out. Most importantly though, the visit was to also thank him for his support of the network over the years and seek his wise counsel and blessing as the new team begins its work.

In his opening remarks, the President of the Network, Boateng, reaffirmed the Network’s commitment to the development of Kwahu, recounting laudable initiatives like the “KPN Give Back” and “Yenko Kwahu” events that have been successfully organized in the last two years.

He further stated that these events will be held annually and will continue to be used as channels to provide essential developmental, health, and medical care for the indigenes as well as promote Kwahu’s domestic tourism respectively, reiterating, that it is the best way to put Kwahu on the global map as a destination of choice not just during Easter but all year round.

On the development of sports, particularly football, he assured Daasebre that the network shares in his vision of reviving the OKwahu United Football Club, which was once the pride of all Kwahus and a force to reckon with in the local football circles. He indicated that the network as per its name and objective has seasoned sports professionals who are ready to bring their experience and expertise to bear.

Welcoming the delegation, Daasebre Akumoah Agyapong II congratulated the executive team on their appointment and expressed his confidence in them to steer the affairs of the network successfully, admonishing them to also work closely with the Kwahu Traditional Council.

He further reaffirmed his unflinching support and devotion to the network as has been the case in the past, saying; “I have been part of the network from its founding days and I will continue to be part, and my expectation is that as the new leadership you will build on what your predecessors have done significantly so we can all be proud of Kwahuman now and in the future.”

Touching on his resolve to revive the Okwahu United Football Club, he intimated that the President of KPN will be made a member of the interim management team that has been constituted to help revamp the indigenous football club of Kwahu.

Furtherance to his commitment to work closely with the network to boost Kwahu’s local tourism, he indicated that he has had preliminary engagements with the Membership Director of KPN, Frank Danchie on strategic approaches to increase patronage to the numerous and unique tourist sites in the area.

The KPN delegation to Daasebre’s Palace had some prominent personalities in attendance, notable among them was the Member of Parliament for the Mpraeso Constituency-Honourable Davis Opoku Ansah who is also the immediate past president of the network. Others included Commissioner Fred Ansong and Michael Manu Gyamfi, Vice President KPN North America chapter.

The delegation also donated some items to Daasebre and his elders and this was ably supported by some KPN Member businesses including Saka Homes, X-Mineral Water, Adepa Foods, and Yopoo Clean Co Limited.

Earlier in the day, the Executive team met with two of the MPs from the Kwahu Block, i.e., MP for Abetifi- Honourable Bryan Acheampong and MP for Mpraeso, Honourable Davis Opoku-Ansah to formally introduce themselves and share their vision with them. The team will meet the other Kwahu MPs later.
