All is set for the 67th Independence Day celebration in Koforidua

The special guest of honor for the occasion is the President of Côte d’Ivoire Alhassan Ouattara

All is set for Ghana’s 67th Independence Anniversary celebration, which is slated to be marked at the Koforidua Youth Resource Centre in the Eastern Region.

On Wednesday (6 March), thousands, including  President Akufo-Addo as well as residents, will gather at the venue to celebrate the momentous occasion.

The special guest of honor for the occasion is the President of Côte d’Ivoire, Alhassan Ouattara.

Speaking to Asaase News, the Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong, assured that the region is ready to host a successful event.

“We know Koforidia is not Accra, so we expect congestion. We are working with the Motor Transport and Traffic Unit of the Department of Police Service to manage traffic. Additionally, the Ghana Police Service has deployed enough men and officers in the community to help contain crime in respect of crime management, so public safety and stability.”

“It is not just in Koforidua town, but the neighboring communities are all spread out on the highways, so that people who are traveling into Koforidua will travel without any form of hindrance.

“Additionally, we have made enough announcements on community platforms advertising this program. I must admit that the community is really hyped up to receiving our numerous visitors who will come in, as well as hosting the event.”
