MCE to residents: Let’s make Nkwanta South the cleanest

The MCE Kwame Lenwah says everyone must play a crucial part in keeping their surroundings clean during this rainy season to prevent fifth-related ailment

The MCE for Nkwanta South, Bright Kwame Lenwah, has over the weekend led a clean-up exercise to clear all clogged gutters as part of measures to address flooding in the municipality.

Lenwah said everyone must play a crucial part in keeping their surroundings clean during this rainy season to prevent fifth-related ailment.

Lenwah advised the locals to always keep a clean environment.

“There’s a saying that ‘cleanliness is next to godliness’.  By example therefore as a leader of the municipality, I have to also take part in the clean-up so that the people will emulate it and see how important it is and the need to keep their surroundings clean,” the MCE said.

Lenwah also advised food sellers to keep their surroundings clean.

For her part, Cynthia Sekyere, the environmental health officer for Nkwanta South, also called on the people to maintain good hygiene and sanitary practices.

Members of the security services including the police, military and fire service, as well as, teachers, students took part in the exercise.
