NPP flagbearer race: I’m confident of victory, says Bawumia

Speaking to journalists after casting his vote at the NPP headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra on Saturday (4November), Bawumia said the process has been smooth so far

Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is optimistic of emerging winner in the ongoing poll to elect a flagbearer for the governing New Patriotic Party ahead of the 2024 election.

Four candidates namely Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Dr Owusu Afriyie-Akoto, a former Minister for Food and Agriculture, and Francis Addai-Nimoh, a former MP for Mampong are including Dr Mahamudu Bawumia are vying for the NPP flagbearer position.

Speaking to journalists after casting his vote at the NPP headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra on Saturday (4November), Bawumia said the process has been smooth so far.

“So far it’s been smooth. So we will wait for the process to complete across the country and we will see what will happen. I’m reasonably confident of victory. But we will wait and see,”

“I pray by the end of the election today, I’ll be declared the next flagbearer,” Bawumia said.
