Oti Region: Joshua Makubu declares intention to contest Nkwanta South seat

The minister declared his intention after stakeholders engagement with constituents and party members

The Oti Regional Minister, Joshua Makubu, has declared his intention to contest in the Nkwanta South constituency parliamentary election on the ticket of New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Makubu believes he can change the fortune of the party and make it very attractive when given the chance to lead the constituency in the 2024 general election.

He, therefore, called on party delegates in the constituency to be united and work with him to defeat the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking on the deplorable Nkwanta-Kpasa road, he revealed that, the Ministry of Roads and Highways has instructed the contractor working on the project to return to site.

According to him, there was an earlier decision from the government to terminate the China Xiaghzi company contract over delay to execute the project.

He added that the Ministry of Roads and Highways has already paid some money to the contractor and work will commence soon.

Meanwhile, the governing NPP is scheduled to open nomination for orphan constituencies on 11 July.
