Security will be paramount at Wizkid Live Concert, says Ruddy Kwakye

Wizkid is expected to perform songs from his forthcoming album “More Love, Less Ego”, as well as his biggest hits to his devoted fans

Ruddy Kwakye, one of the organisers of the Wizkid Live Concert, has given assurance to fans that security will be paramount at the show, promising a night of excitement.

Wizkid Live concert in Ghana is slated for Saturday (10 December) at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Appearing on The Asaase Breakfast Show, Kwakye said the team organising the event is made up of experts, who also had a hand in the successful Global Citizen festival.

“Currently, Ghana has placed itself in such a way that most people want to enter Ghana and kick off their events, and it is with this background that we are kicking off December in GH – a unique package of events and programmes to make Ghana the preferred tourism destination for Christmas and New Year,” he said.

“100% security is paramount,” Kwakye told sit-in host Benjamin Offei-Addo on Wednesday. “I am proud to say that part of the supply chain that actually delivered Global Citizen festival integrated into this concert. So, there is a clear understanding of what is needed to protect customers.

“We will be working with all the state bodies like the police and fire service to ensure the safety of guests for a successful programme,” Kwakye added.

Performance

R2Bees, Efya, Darko vibes King Promise, Kelvyn Boy Gyakie  are among the host of local artistes set to perform at the concert.

Wizkid is expected to perform songs from his forthcoming album “More Love, Less Ego”, as well as his biggest hits to his devoted fans.

The album will be Wizkid’s fifth studio album and will feature both home and international artists like Ayra Starr, Don Toliver, Skepta, Naira Marley, Skillibeng and Shenseea.

The Wizkid Live in Ghana Concert is in partnership with Asaase Broadcasting Limited and will be broadcast live on Asaase Radio.

December in Ghana

According to Kwakye, December in Ghana is coming with unique package of events and programmes to make Ghana the preferred tourism destination for Christmas and New Year.

“It is as steep endeavour we are undertaking,” he said. “If you love music then know that this goes beyond Wizkid. We cannot have a thriving music industry without support on the ground level and by attending, you do your part in supporting our acts.”

He added: “We sat down with Wiz and analysed how crazy we could go with the organising and he gave us the permission to go crazy. We are doing a 360 center-staged show in the middle with an area capacity of about 40,000.”

“We are hoping that this concert will kick off properly December in Ghana, which will cascade to all other amazing experiences and it’s attracting 1000s of people into Ghana this December.”
