Ten-year-old boy electrocuted in Nkwanta

The police have recovered the body and deposited it at the Nkwanta South municipal mortuary for autopsy pending investigations

A ten-year-old boy has been electrocuted in Nkwanta in the Oti Region.

The deceased, only known as Agbenyega, died after he was shocked by a naked electric wire at about 5.30pm on 2 June following a downpour.

Narrating the incident to the Ghana News Agency, an eye witness said, the boy returned from school late due to the rain. His mother asked him to go home and bring some items for sale.

On his way home, there was an illegal extension of electricity from one house to another with a naked wire. Agbenyega mistakenly touched the wire and was shocked to death.

The police have recovered the body and deposited it at the Nkwanta South municipal mortuary for autopsy pending investigations.
