#Clash2CrushCOVID: It’s 1GAD versus 1DON

The 12-day countdown has begun to the “Asaase Sound Clash” – the dancehall clash to end all clashes … and crush COVID

In a countdown to the Asaase Sound Clash, Asaase News took to the streets of Osu to speak to a cross-section of the public about their favourite artistes.

Fans of Ghana’s two leading dancehall musicians, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, have reacted to songs of their favourite artistes and also joined the Ten-Second Clash 2 Crush COVID challenge.

Over the years, rivalry between the two leading dancehall artistes as to who is the best lyrical craftsman has kept the fans arguing with each other. Asaase Sound Clash is here to settle that debate.

Social media storm

The event, dubbed the Clash 2 Crash COVID, has triggered much discussion on social media among fans of the top two artistes, who have agreed to face off in the Asaase Sound Clash on 12 September 2020.

The music stars confirmed their readiness to take part in the worthy cause during the launch.

The Asaase Sound Clash was launched at Asaase Radio at Number 7 Fifth Circular Road in Cantonments, Accra, on 4 August 2020. The event is an initiative joining the two artistes’ forces in the fight against the novel coronavirus disease.

Last night, the events and promotions manager for Asaase Radio, Mel Kwesi Davis, gave Asaase News an exclusive preview of some of the special showcases that will lead up to the main event, slated for 12 September.

Chance to win special prizes

“Today we officially launched the 12-day countdown. We are going to be giving a lot of prizes to all the fan base of both Bhim Nation and SM4LYF,” said Davis.

“This week, we are going on a float all over Accra for the two groups of fans. We will also be broadcasting live from the homes of Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale. And again, certain selected fans will get the chance to go along with us on the float.”

Currently in Asaase Radio’s online Clash 2 Crush COVID poll, it’s Stonebwoy who is leading. But there isn’t much of a gap: Stonebwoy has 3,167 votes while Shatta Wale has 3,021.

The short code for voting in the Asaase Sound Clash is *800*995*1# for Shatta Wale and *800*995*2# for Stonebwoy.

Asaase Sound Clash promises to be the reggae dancehall event to beat them all.
