Global women’s conference and expo open in Accra

The fourth global women's conference, taking place at the Accra International Conference Centre from 16 to 17 May, will include a business networking session

The Global Women’s Professional and Business Exchange Conference and Expo has kicked off in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

Organised by the US Ghana Chamber of Commerce, the event provides a networking opportunity for global women and men. It is also dedicated to the business and professional empowerment of women and girls.

The conference includes sessions on business development, business financing, wealth creation and preservation, social media marketing, tech, business lead generation, and professional skill development.

Speaking at the conference, the general manager of Asaase Broadcasting Company Ltd., Prince Moses, said: “We understand business, and we want a lot of people to understand business. That’s what Asaase stands for. We are not here for propaganda, but to be the voice of our land.”

The conference includes at least eight plenary sessions, 28 breakout sessions, networking and business receptions, an awards dinner, and a global speaker roaster of over 40.

Explaining more about the conference, the project coordinator Alfred Obeng-Asare, told Asaase News that there are over 25 speakers from both Ghana and the US.

“These are not just mere speakers, they are resourced persons who are really versed in their field of endeavors,” he added.

“So, when we talk about a farmer, we are talking extensively about it. There are four breakout sessions during the conference, and these sessions foster a more interpersonal relationship with participants, allowing them to freely flow with their resource persons.

“Although the topic is global women’s conference, you will agree with me that the kind of topics that will be treated here is a general topic which turns to empower not just women but people who are also in the entrepreneurial sector,” Obeng-Asare said.
