One dies in Bogoso road crash

A fully loaded timber truck AS 2765-R failed break whiles climbing towards the Bogoso market roundabout and run into vehicles in reverse down hill.

At least one person has been confirmed dead in an accident on Saturday (19 November) in Bogoso in the Western Region of Ghana.

A fully loaded timber truck with registration number AS 2765-R had a brake failure while climbing towards the Bogoso market roundabout and ran into vehicles in reverse downhill.

The logs fell on three passenger vehicles and a Toyota Corolla private car trapping one of the passengers.

A combined rescue team from Future Global Resources, Ghana National Fire Service, NADMO, Ghana Police Service, National Ambulance and volunteers came in but it was too late to save the trapped passenger.

Augustus Osei, driver of Mazda Demio Taxi cab with registration number GW 6327-22 said he shouted for all the passengers to get down and run for their lives upon sensing danger, but unfortunately the man was not swift enough.

Three persons who sustained injuries are receiving treatment at the Bogoso Health Center.

A Ghana Card found on the deceased identifies him as Kapire Yaw-Kwaakye.
